Taylor grew up in Ohio with a dream.

She loved sharks, marine life, and the ocean, but like many young people living far from the coast, a career in marine conservation felt out of reach. The cost of travel, training, certifications, and specialized experiences created barriers that seemed impossible to overcome.

Then she found Zen4Blue.

Through mentorship, educational opportunities, and scholarship support, Taylor was given access to experiences she never thought possible. She earned her scuba certification, traveled to Belize to participate in marine conservation activities, connected with professionals in the field, and discovered a pathway toward a future dedicated to ocean education and the sharks she loves.

Today, Taylor serves as Zen4Blue’s Shark Educator, helping inspire others through conservation outreach and educational programming. Her story is proof that talent and passion exist everywhere. Opportunity does not. The Women in Blue Science Scholarship Fund was created to launch dreams into reality.

Why We Created This Scholarship Fund

Every year, we meet young women with the curiosity, dedication, and passion needed to become future marine scientists, conservation leaders, environmental educators, and ocean advocates. What they often lack is access. Without support, many of these future leaders never get the chance to discover what they are capable of achieving. We believe financial circumstances should never determine who gets to pursue a dream.

How Your Sponsorship Creates Change

Training, Experience, & Mentorship
Scholarship funds help provide the foundational skills needed to participate in ocean focused programs, including certifications, educational materials, and professional preparation. The recipient participates in immersive field coursework in conservation, experiences that expand her understanding of ocean ecosystems, marine careers, and environmental leadership.
